Private Fund Group Associate

It took an immense about of work to secure an interview worth the firm. I used tactics that I learned while securing my job prior to my masters degree which consisted of LinkedIn, conference attendance and cold calling. Thankfully one of the more senior people from the firm was willing to have a phone conversation in the late fall. This consisted of more fit questions and discussions about my motives for the Private Fund Advisory side of the business. I was asked about Lazard's track record in this space and whether I knew of how their structure compared to smaller independent firms such as MVision, Asante, Rede Partners etc.

I was then brought into the firm and met with two of the senior associates on the team. Again, this was a fit based discussion and we talked a lot about culture. Given that the team is relatively small you could tell that this was a major factor for them in their decision process. The interview needed with me asking questions which they answered very well. I felt like they were honest in their responses and were able to shed light on the culture, hours and work load.
