The interview was more of a conversation that anything and he offered me a role as an internship position for his team particularly, but it would be unpaid. The overall process was very simple.

Not the worst interview, but wouldn't recommend. A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn for an initital phone conversation. They provided a general overview of the company and the role itself, went over my background and qualifications. However, when I asked for a salary range for this position I didn't get a response ultimately decided not to move forward with this company.

Phone Interview
Interview
I applied directly on the LPL Financial website. I was then contacted by a recruiter from the East Coast 4-5 days later. We scheduled a phone interview via email, which went well and lasted about 30 minutes. The recruiter talked about what it's like working at the company and asked basic behavioral questions. I was then referred to the HR staff from La Jolla. They asked me to provide 3 times for a phone interview that worked for me, to which I gave regular mid morning/afternoon times. They replied that the only available time was 4:00 pm on Halloween! I went through with the interview, but did not receive an interview. The interviewer from La Jolla was very unintelligent and unenthusiastic, which definitely led me to not even want a position in this firm.
Interview Questions
These very easy questions were from the second phone interview with the HR manager from La Jolla. This is an entry level position (25-30% of the time is monitoring a group email inbox).
* Interviewer walked through each point on my resume and had me explain them to him. This was the majority of the 30 minute interview.

* Tell me about the 4 types of financial statements (Balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and statement of owner's equity.

* What is your favorite accomplishment; one from personal and one from professional life?

* Ask me any questions you may have.

It was a very easy interview process. It was extremely laid back. I was recommended to reach out to a wealth advisor via a mutual friend. I reached out and told the person I was interested in finance and wealth management and that this would be a great internship experience for me. The people were extremely intelligent and based on services their client as quickly as possible giving them the most optimal client service you could ever receive. Treat the client like you would want to be treated when dealing with a company. How would you want to be serviced?
Interview Questions

Give me an example of how you are a team player and can work well in groups.
