Background Check
Interview
The process began with an initial phone screen with someone from MACOM's Corporate Development & Investor Relations team. We discussed my background, previous internship experience, interest in finance, and why I wanted to work at MACOM.

After the phone screen, I received an invitation for a formal 30-minute interview. I was told the next round would include behavioral and technical questions, along with a brief verbal case discussion. The interviewer also recommended reviewing MACOM's most recent earnings call transcripts beforehand.

Overall, the initial conversation was straightforward and conversational, and communication throughout the process has been positive. I am currently preparing for the next round.
Interview Questions
One of the more unexpected questions was a conceptual investment scenario. The interviewer asked me to imagine being assigned a project on Monday that needed to be completed by Friday. I had to explain how I would approach evaluating the opportunity and determine whether it would be a good investment worth pursuing within that limited timeframe. It was interesting because it tested my analytical thinking and decision-making process rather than just my technical finance knowledge.
