Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I got the interview from OCR. I was aware of that this is a very small boutique firm, and expecting to gain okay internship experience if I got the chance. But it turned out this firm is very unprofessional. They (2 on 1) started the interview with a two-digits multiplication brain teaser, I really don't see the reason of starting an interview like this for an IBD intern position. Then walk through my resume, not even before I finished my first sentence, they started to look away from me and behaved not interested in it. I don't see how my first few words bore them that much. And when I finished talking about my first internship experience, they actually said "that's it? it was easy". I admit that wasn't a very challenging internship. Then they came up with a modified version of the classic "Monty Hall Problem"(1 car behind 1 of the 3 doors, the other 2 have sheep). By modified version, they made the switching indifferent to the problem. (they didn't say they'd open one of the other two doors after my initial guess and then asking me if switch or not, they just asked me if I was offered a chance to switch after my initial guess, would I switch.) The problem became pointless this way since switching making no change to the answer. The two had different answers to this modified problem and they argued with each other, I had to listen to them arguing for about 5 minutes. When it came to discussing my college, I said college life wasn't all about school and advantages of attending a school in a big city. They asked me "so do you party a lot?" I was confused how I led them to that question. At last, I asked them what my responsibilities would be if I work here. They spent 2/3 of the answer explaining what is being on time and how I should be on time. And that's it.
I apologize in advance if you feel I made this review biased, but I didn't exaggerate anything during my interview. This is not the only firm I'm interviewing with but it's the only one so far behaved this unprofessional, trying to embarrassing their candidate throughout the interview, showing no respect to their candidates.
