Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I had previously interviewed for a 5-week winter internship so my interview process was a little different. Through the previous internship, the MD was aware of my abilities and wanted me to come help her build up the firm. I had an introductory "interview" with her in June via phone which was more about her selling me the opportunity. The 2nd interview was in person in NYC (after Marine Money's NYC Week) with the Sr. VP where it was more of a "fit" interview which led to him selling me on the position. The third and final interview was with an MD at Jefferies (close with Meriel's MD) who asked pretty basic financial questions such as DCF, valuations, etc). This wasn't too difficult, it was a boiler plate type of interview. The last process was the MD wanted me to put together a DCF for DHT Holdings with a full revenue breakdown by each vessel. She did not want to see % increases, but actual market forecasts based on the BDI and Clarksons data.
Interview Questions
Nothing really tough, just standard IB questions. Most difficult part was putting together the DCF on DHT with projected charter rates rather than annual increases/decreases.
