Millstein & Co. was founded by and is led by Jim Millstein. Jim Millstein is a veteran in the restructuring industry and, prior to founding Millstein & Co., served as Chief Restructuring Officer at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In that role, he was responsible for oversight and management of the Department's largest investments in the financial sector, including the successful turnaround of American International Group (AIG). Mr. Millstein was formerly Global Co-Head of the Restructuring Group at Lazard, where he managed restructurings and recapitalizations for a diverse array of clients, including Charter Communications, the Republic of Argentina and the United Auto Workers. Mr. Millstein was also previously a partner at Cleary Gottlieb and head of its Restructuring Group.
