Investment Banking Analyst (Experienced)

I applied to an experienced investment banking analyst position at Mirus Capital Advisors in Burlington, MA (Greater Boston Area). I found the opportunity via Doostang.com. After applying on Doostang, I was contacted by one of the partners at the firm. We had a 30-45 minute phone conversation where the partner described the firm to me and then asked me about my experience. The phone interview was basic and there were no curve balls. I walked through my resume and explained why I would want to pursue a job at a boutique investment bank outside of Boston. Overall it was a very pleasant experience -- I get the feeling that Mirus was more concerned about "fit" and prior experience than anything else. After the phone interview ended, I was invited to their office to conduct an in person interview with various members of the Mirus team. Again the questions were focused on fit and background, but this time I had to go into more detail about my previous deal experience. Questions like "please tell me about the due diligence process for X company and any issues that may have come up" and "what was your role in this specific transaction" were very common. After the in person interview, I decided to pursue a different opportunity.
