Approached via a head hunter
Met all the then partners in London
Asked to, and was allowed to, meet some of the SVPs and VPs
Flown out to US to meet a group of the senior partners in the US
Final stage was meeting Ken Moelis
Overall, at that stage of development, there was a major focus on selling the Moelis story. It was a young firm, set up very recently; so the enthusiasm and sense of freedom from getting out of bulge bracket banks was palpable.
