From nontarget, networked with 12 different people across levels to get 1st round. The interviewer arrived 5 minutes late and said he had a client call at the half-hour mark. Proceeded to leave driving conversation up to me and finally asked background (TMAY) 5 minutes into the interview, halfway through he cut in to ask about the analyst I was close with and met with inperson who worked on his team, proceeded to ramble about him and ask irrelevant questions about him for 10ish minutes. Eventually got around to asking me two simple situational questions, the first about being in client meeting and associate saying something that was wrong and the second and final situation was regarding going about creating model you haven't done before when can't ask associate for help. From there, ask me two very simple conceptual technical questions before letting me ask questions, as he was in a rush to hop on a client call. Overall, horrible experience as he was obviously reading emails on his other monitor the entire interview and only gave me 20 minutes of interview time. He did not want to be there from the beginning and gave no attention to me whatsoever. Never heard of as bad of an experience interviewing at Moelis. Wasn't given a chance.
