Heard about the opportunity through an upperclassman who had previously interned there. The firm takes one intern a year. Reached out to their main contact (pretty small firm so the guy I talked to is the head guy for the most part) at the end of February. We set up a phone interview for the following week, he asked me some basic behaviorals about why I'm interested in finance and L/S equities investing as well as my experience so far in college. Then asked some basic technicals like differences between adjusted and non-adjusted EBITDA, calculating EV, the utility of certain valuation metrics like P/E and EBITDA. Then a week later we had a video interview where we mostly just casually discussed their portfolio companies and it was much more relaxed. Received the offer during that call.
