Interview
Two 30-minute conversations. First with HR, second with the analyst. Group specialized in CDL investment, so the main focus was on financial modeling skills, and debt structuring, rather than typical probability/statistics questions I've encountered in other Hedge Fund interviews. HR was late 15 minutes, distracted and not very interested. Analyst was really nice asked resume questions, and small assignment, on how to approach risk management situation. They were looking for someone with prior IB experience or solid understanding of IB modeling, which job description didn't specify what they were looking for.
Interview Questions
How would you approach risk evaluation within the collateralized loan obligation.

Interview Questions
"What is a swap and why is it traded?"

Swap is an agreement between two organizations to create an optimal interest rate agreement. Usually is the "exchange" between a fixed rate and a floating rate i.e. LIBOR +2%
What happened during the 2008 financial crisis?

Housing was hot, and banks were giving very low interest rates to borrowers. People bought houses they couldn't afford (without these loans). Banks sensed the riskiness of this, and sold these mortgage agreements or bundled them together to make them appear less risky.
