Interview
The interview process for a Business Operations Intern position at Motorola Solutions is structured and thorough, beginning with an online application through their careers portal or campus recruitment channels. After submitting my resume, I received an invitation for an initial phone interview with an HR representative. This conversation focused on my background, interest in the role, and a few behavioral questions to assess my fit for the position.

Following the HR screening, I had a technical and behavioral interview with a potential teammate. This discussion delved into my problem-solving abilities, experience with business operations, and how my skills aligned with the team's needs. The interviewer asked about my past projects, specifically those involving data analysis, process improvement, and collaboration. After this, I spoke with the hiring manager, who explored my understanding of business operations in more depth. They asked about my ability to work in cross-functional teams, handle ambiguous situations, and adapt to changing business needs.

In addition to the interviews, I was required to prepare a portfolio presentation that demonstrated my analytical and problem-solving skills. This presentation was an opportunity to showcase my experience with data-driven decision-making and my ability to communicate insights effectively. The final step was receiving an offer and going through the onboarding process, which provided an overview of the company’s culture, expectations, and my role within the team.

Overall, the interview process was well-structured and gave me a clear sense of what to expect as a Business Operations Intern at Motorola Solutions. The interviewers were professional and engaging, asking insightful questions that allowed me to highlight my strengths. Preparing thoroughly by researching the company, reviewing my past experiences, and practicing responses to common interview questions was key to navigating the process successfully.

Interview
Typical phone interview after submitting application online. Set a time for an in-person interview 2 weeks down. They requested I prepare a presentation describing my excel skills and any projects I may have completed. The interviewers (3) were not HR and were part of the group I would be working with. They did not seem prepared or like they had any interviewing experience.
Interview Questions
The presentation they asked for was a bit difficult since there were no specifications or requirements. They kind of just said "Just throw something together". Felt like they should have asked for specifics.
