Interview
1. Brief HR interview
2. Online test comprising of aptitude, personality and excel modules
3. Two Face-to-face interviews with manager and director of investments division - mostly behavioral questions-
tell me about yourself, strengths and weaknesses, why real estate (I do not have any prior experience in real estate), what skills would you bring to the team on day 1, do you have any questions for us (asked about role, vision for the team and the PE fund since it is a startup, investment strategy, discussed about impact of recent macroeconomic policies on real estate sector in general).
Interview Questions
Why private equity? Why real estate? What would you bring to the table on day 1? We understand that there will be a learning curve, but what are some skills from your prior experience that are directly transferable? This question was most challenging for me as I had to justify why I want to make a switch from generalist IB role to real estate private equity.

You have been working in a VP capacity at your current company - would you be satisfied with being in an analyst role with almost negligible managerial responsibilities?
