Interview
I applied through my school career website with a resume and cover letter. A few days later an analyst emailed me and asked me to write a long or short report with emphasis on imitating New Constructs' writing style and valuation approach. After submitting my report, I received a phone call from the analyst explaining the details of the position and asking me to come in to the office for an interview. The interview consisted first of a 30-minute 2-on-1 interview with two analysts, then an interview with the COO, and then an interview with the CEO. Was only asked two easy technical questions. During the waiting period between the first and second interview, one of the analysts brought me over to his desk and showed me a bit about how they did their work. Heard back with an offer about two weeks later. People were smart and worked hard, but also easygoing and friendly. Strong work life balance - people were in 8 and out by 5-6 most of the time.
