Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I applied online and waited to hear back. Then I got a phone call and they asked me to come in and asked me about my work history. Then I got the job.
Interview Questions
They asked me about all the jobs that I undertook. For example, they told me to list everything that I was capable of doing. As I listed them, they looked at a sheet and checked off something. Another question they asked was what I would do in the event that a major retailer went bankrupt when they have 230000 in outstanding payments. I responded by saying that I would figure out who to go after by running down the corporate structure. In the event that the parent company went bankrupt, I would consult with our counsel to see what legal action we can take.

Interview
Applied online at Nordstrom to be a Corporate Finance intern. After about two weeks was invited to do a HireVue initial screening. Approximately two more weeks after that was invited for a final round interview. The interview consisted of me, the head of corporate finance, and a senior associate. Was asked to give a 15 minute presentation about questions they gave me ~1 week in advance. Afterwards, we talked about what the internship was like and why I wanted to work at Nordstrom, and then I was given a case problem. Case was relatively easy -- Nordstrom wants to add in a new section to their store. Where should floor space be given up after being provided with financial statements, and how should we market the new campaign?
Interview Questions
Since I was interviewing for the finance analysis internship, I wasn't expecting to have to answer a question about marketing. They asked what methods I would use to not only increase purchases with customers who already shopped at Nordstrom, but how I would market the campaign to customers who had never shopped at Nordstrom. They wanted a really detailed answer, and wanted me to lay out the entire campaign start to finish, with who I would reach out to, what type of media I would use, and what types of in store promotions I would offer.
