- 1 of 14 people who were offered to be interviewed on campus (small LAC), I was the only sophomore interviewed.
- I checked with a friend who works at the firm and he said standard procedure is 1 set of on campus interviews, then a Superday as the second round at the office.
Interview Questions
First (of two) round consisted of two 30-minute interviews, 1 with a partner and 1 with a 2nd-year analyst.
- The partner gave me a case which was really just a market exploration/brainstorm case (related to finance), after having asked me: why consulting and why Novantas? He also did a quantitative problem that was relatively hard
- The analyst gave me 3 brainteasers/quant. problems that were all moderately difficult, but nothing that was crazy out of the ordinary (time & degrees problem, marbles & bags, etc.)

Interview Questions
Brain teaser: there are four people trying to cross one bridge, they have seventeen minutes to do so. The bridge only fits two people at a time at most. There is one flashlight and you need the flashlight to cross the bridge, but two people can share a flashlight. The analyst takes one minute to cross, the associate takes two minutes to cross, the VP takes five minutes to cross, and the MD takes ten minutes to cross. How can they make it so that they cross in seventeen minutes?

Interview Questions
What three qualities would your brother or sister describe you with?
Should Apple start an airline? Very qualitative, open-ended case question with no numbers, mostly big-picture thinking.
You are president of the United States and one morning the sun doesn't come up. What do you do? Also a very qualitative case with no numbers, meant to look at short and long term thinking. Other case questions had decent math. Some candidates received tough brain teasers. Question type really depends on which interviewer you get.

Interview
Applied online, invited to one-on-one interviews with junior then senior staff. The junior interviewers asked the standard brain teaser questions seen on Glassdoor. The senior staff asked more challenging questions with a mix of both behavioural and case types.
Interview Questions
How much money would a coffee shop make at Toronto's central subway station? This is essentially a market sizing problem but they wanted to see you run through the math and derive insights from what you were seeing. They also wanted to see how sound your assumption-making skills are., If I gave you $1MM to set up a business idea based on something we discussed, what would be your idea? This was more to get the conversation warmed up. Quite a fun question to ask and I was caught unprepared when they asked. Easy to prepare a good answer to!

Interview
I applied through the on campus career website, submitting my resume and a brief cover letter to the job posting for Novantas' associate consultant position based in New York City. A few weeks later, I received an email saying that I had been selected, and I met with a few Novantas consultants for an on campus interview at our career center. There were two parts. The first part was a behavioral interview with two interviewers, and then they asked a brain teaser and I was provided paper to complete it. The second part was a case study and I was asked to explain my thought process. I was not offered an offer.
Interview Questions
This was the exact brainteaser asked: There are 25 horses and 5 lanes. You have no idea about which horse is better than other. Find in minimum possible races, the first three fastest running horses.
This was the exact case study asked: Our client Aircell is a start-up company with a technology to deliver broadband internet service to commercial airlines. Aircell offers the Gogo Inflight Internet which allows airline passengers to connect to the Internet through a system of cell towers on the ground. Gogo Inflight InternetThe towers have been outfitted to point their signals at the sky rather than along the ground. The aircraft picks up the signal through a receiver installed on its underside. Once in the aircraft, the data signal is distributed throughout the cabin via a Wi-Fi wireless system. As a consultant hired by the CEO of Aircell, how would you help them think about their offering?

Interview
Submitted resume to career services. Received word of interview schedule after a few weeks.
Was contacted by the interviewer a few days before the interviews, asked if I had any questions for him... didn't have much to say at that point. Interview consisted of two parts, one with the interviewer who called me, presented a straightforward estimation case, was easy and painless. Second part I was put in a room with two relatively new associates. They proceeded to grill me with brainteasers and mental math problems. I thought I did well, but they had a smug attitude about it. They yawned throughout my resume walkthrough.
Interview Questions
There is a line of 1000 light bulbs, all off, and with a switch in front of them that can turn the light bulbs on and off.
There is a line of 1000 people, who walk by the line of lightbulbs one by one. The first person hits every switch, the second every other, the third every third and etc.
After all 1000 people have passed, how many light bulbs remain on?
15 horses, with a race track that can only fit 5 at a time. Without a stop watch, what is the minimum number of races you need to run in order to determine the fastest 3 horses, 1, 2 and 3.
