NovaQuest Capital Management L.L.C. (NovaQuest) manages private equity and other investments in the global biopharmaceutical sector, where its principal focus is investing in late-stage clinical assets and commercial phase biopharmaceutical products. NovaQuest contracts with global biopharmaceutical corporations to invest side-by-side in their most strategic development and commercialization programs. Side-by-side investing means that NovaQuest invests in the products that biopharmaceuticals intend to develop and commercialize while the biopharmaceutical continues to invest its own capital in the same products. NovaQuest employs a flexible array of investment and return mechanisms that seek to optimize investment risks and returns for its investors as it provides financing solutions and operational enhancements to the biopharmaceutical industry.

The NovaQuest team began their work together in 2000 as the staff of a key investment group within Quintiles Transnational Corp. (Quintiles). The NovaQuest team has built strong relationships with biopharmaceutical companies, which has led to a track record of investments to help address their financial and strategic objectives. The NovaQuest team's investments have provided companies with alternatives to standard biopharmaceutical industry development and commercial deal-making. Over the past 10 plus years, the team has worked together to invest approximately $942 million into the global biopharmaceutical industry's most strategic assets.

NovaQuest today is an independent group that manages pools of capital backed by strong investors, whose relationships with the team date to 2000. Such investors include Quintiles, a global pharmaceutical services company; MBK PharmaPartnering, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Japanese firm, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., one of the most diversified and comprehensive trading, investment and service enterprises in the world which pursues a wide variety of businesses worldwide, including investments in the healthcare sector (Mitsui); and a third important sponsor, whose beneficial owners include several top-tier global investment firms and a major sovereign wealth fund.
