Interview
I had networked with the CEO of the bank, I got in contact with him when I was working for my stepdads stairs and railing company. I introduced myself to him saying how I was studying economics and interested in banking, and he gave me the email to his secretary. I emailed my resume to his secretary, who then passed it along to HR. You first have to go through a phone interview where they ask you to tell them a little bit about yourself and what you're interests are. Then you are asked to come into the office to fill out paper work to do a background check, and HR conducts the interview. They ask to walk them through your resume, explain certain stuff on your resume, why you would be a good fit for the job, how the stuff on your resume prepares you for the position, and what do you expect to get out of the internship. I got a call the next day after the interview with the offer.
Interview Questions
What on your resume best describes why you would be ideal for this internship?

There are two key parts in my resume that best show how I am a good fit for this internship. The first is that I manage a personal investment portfolio and I day trade, therefore in order to succeed in these activities I have to be able to think for myself and make decisions based on information I have to research, which I feel make me a critical and quick thinker since I am put in difficult positions and must figure out what best action to take. The second is I started a trading club a school with a friend, which displays my initiative in wanting to reach to other people on the topic as well as leadership and organizational skills as I created the club to teach others about trading.
What do you expect to get out of this internship?

I hope to get exposure to the investments management side of commercial banking, and how they go about making their decisions as they adjust to changes in the market. Additionally I want to learn a lot and see how it fits to my future career prospects.
