Business Development Associate Interview - Business Development
The office is beautiful but small - new, modern building, pool table and flat screen TV in "the bullpen" (area where Deal Originators are on the phones). In fact, it's the same building that Houlihan Lokey is headquartered in.
I check in for the interview and am let in to a conference room, where I first undergo a 1 on 1 interview with the SVP of Global Business Development. He was very nice. Asked me questions about what I do at my work (which is very similar to the job I posted). Answered my questions as to the day-to-day duties, what they're looking for, and gave me some background on the firm. Answered my questions and that wrapped up part one.
Next up is the group interview. Met with 4 people (all in their business development team). They asked me about my work experience and about what I know of the company (what they do, what they focus on, what year they were founded, etc). After that was taken care of, the mood lightened and they asked personality fit/behavioral questions. Once this interview was done, I was done for the day.
The day after, I send a "Thank you" e-mail to HR, and the next week, I get an e-mail from the SVP of GBD who wants me to call him. He offers me the job over the phone and emphasizes that "fit" is very important to them. Says he will e-mail me the written offer (which was sent 2 days later).
All in all, quick and painless interview process. Very friendly team.
