Interview
Cold Called asking for internship. Said there was one available. First round was with associates, 2nd round was with a managing director at the investment bank. Process was quick and took less than a week.
Interview Questions
1st round - Which Pan American country would you invest in? Said I would invest in Trinidad because of natural gas opportunities. Interviewer then asked me for a limitation of doing so. Replied by saying that it is a small country and that if the natural gas runs out there is not much else it can rely on for revenues besides tourism. Interviewer agreed.
2nd round - Asked to hold a conversation in Spanish. This firm expects to know spanish and will not accept you if you don't show proficiency. Being someone with non native proficiency, I wasn't able to hold a conversation and was rejected for this reason.
Asked to walk through a DCF analysis I provided as an example of the financial modeling I was familiar with. Was expected to describe in detail how I came up with the figures.
