PGS was founded by Virginia Reynolds Parker in December 1995 to provide customized Alternative Investment Strategies to institutional clients across the globe. In 1996, the company was registered with the SEC as an Investment Advisor and with the NFA as a Commodity Trading Advisor and a Commodity Pool Operator. We started out in the multi-manager FX business with mandates from large banks and public pensions to build portable alpha strategies. In 1998 we moved into the fund of hedge fund business with the successful launch of the first retail focused fund of hedge funds in Japan. This fund utilized managed accounts and marked the beginning of the hedge fund platform created by Lyxor Asset Management. Since that early success, we have designed and managed FX, hedge fund, and managed futures programs with an emphasis on transparency and risk management oversight.

Since its inception, PGS has designed and managed over 30 different alternative programs. We launched an investable FX Index in January 2008 and expanded our FX strategy offering with the investable version of the Parker Currency Managers Index in August 2009. In 2011, we entered into arrangements with both Citibank and Morgan Stanley to provide several indices for investment and custom designed multi-manager FX solutions. In January 2012 PGS launched the CTA Advantage Index on the dbSelect platform.

In 2003 we started researching the areas of energy, global natural resources and environmental investing. PGS launched our single manager fund, PGS Energy Opportunities Trust in July, 2008. The strategy was customized for a mandate needing strong liquidity coupled with a portfolio of “best ideas” in the MLP space and was part of the first multi-manager fund, PGS Premier Energy Income Fund, also launched in July, 2008.

Because of our dedicated expertise and investor demand, PGS is primarily focused on U.S. energy infrastructure (MLPs) as a single manager as well as creating multi-manager investment solutions for FX, Macro and energy. Our strong history in these specialized asset classes supports PGS’ commitment to add significant value by meeting the investment needs of our clients. More recently PGS has begun developing tail risk strategies that will be available as a stand-alone or overlay strategy.
