Associate

PCG is a small shop, focused on healthy & sustainable investment banking services, with particular expertise in growth equity transactions. I was speaking with them about an associate/business development position.

First phase was phone interviews with 3 of their partners, 2 of whom were founders. Essentially a resume run through/personality/fit assessment.

After initial phone conversations, I held a few other conversations with other partners and/or vice presidents, principally focused on strategy and structure of business development function.

Second phase was a series of in-person interviews, doubling up with the partners I had already spoke with, and meeting a number of other employees.

All phases of the interview were essentially fit/personality focused, as this was for a business dev. role.

It was evident the firm had a very good office culture, with a collaborative work environment, and opportunity to take on many tasks. Everyone was very friendly, and passionate about the industry segments they most focused in, with many being accomplished athletes/outdoor enthusiasts.
