Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Was reached out to by a recruiter and had two phone interviews with principals. Then had superday in austin which was tough, with a modeling test and multiple consulting case studies
Interview Questions
Nothing was unexpected as I knew it would be very heavily focused on consulting, however, they were very difficult for someone coming from an investment banking background. The tests were typical case studies you would see from a Bain or BCG interview and one's that I had not done in the past. You will be given different data on a company and have to figure out what their entire industry is like and if it is worth it to make a certain investment or product line. I would review consulting case studies primarily.

Many rounds of phone screens
1 hour credit oriented modeling test
Several consulting style cases
Superday 7-8 separate 1v1 interviews
Interview Questions
The most difficult question asked was an MBB consulting style case question that revolved around a prticular industry. The interviewer began by telling a story about the history of said industry and asked questions woven throughout the story that the interviewer had to fill. Some were qualitative questions and others were quantitative and the overall interview was tough to follow if this was not something you are used to. The firm had many consultants from MBB so these type of interviews are probably easier for consultants going through the process.

Interview
Contacted by a recruiter in mid-January, had two 1-on-1 phone interviews with a VP and MD, then had an on-site superday with multiple 1-on-1 interviews (~6 people) and a modeling test. Was verbally offered a position at the end of the super-day (friday) and formal written letter came the next monday.
Interview Questions
The interview wasn't particularly difficult or unexpected, at a general level. Probably the most difficult case study (there were several throughout the superday) was about a hypothetical portfolio company selling pallets. The company had decided to switch from wooden pallets to plastic (trex) pallets and told the sponsor it needed x dollars. A few months later, the portco came back to the sponsor and said it needed y (a large number) more dollars to buy more pallets. First part of the case was reaching a decision of whether sponsor should give x dollars, and second part of the case was trying to figure out why the portco said it needed y more dollars.
