Interview Questions & Answers - Peel Hunt LLP Examples
Summer Analyst Interview - Generalist
Interview started with questions on my academic background: why I'd chosen the university I had, why I chose the course I chose, my A level grades, etc.
Then moved on to some quickfire numeracy questions to test my on-the-spot thinking skills ("using all three of 3, 4 & 5 and any numerical operator, make 7") and some quick logic questions ("why are manhole covers round?").
Moved onto discussion about the markets: main takeaway is to be keen on the small & mid-cap UK market - apparently the FT isn't sufficient reading. Asked me the price of gold and the price of Brent.
Extended me an offer in the interview, then had a discussion about Peel Hunt, the direction of travel and future risks to the markets which they focus on.
Not too many technical details, mostly had to be able to demonstrate an "intellectual curiosity", interest in the markets, and ability to perform in the kind of situations they'd demand.
