Academy Associate

This review aims to provide an accurate account of the Point72 application process. To summarise, from start to end, the process lasted 3 months. I have detailed each step below. The intention of this review is to inform.

Steps:
1) Questionnaire: 3 questions (1x motivational; 1x behavioural; 1x investment decision question)

2) Case study: Given a stock and asked to build a 3-statement model.

3) Case study debrief (Interview with Academy coach): The coach may argue your thesis is wrong. Show an understanding of their argument and either demonstrate it represents another risk or have figures to prove why their viewpoint is invalid.

5) Interview 2 (with investment professional): Why P72, why long/short, tell me a long idea, tell me a short idea? More technical based.

6) Interview 3 (with investment professional): Why P72, why long/short, tell me what you know about the academy, tell me a long idea, how did you approach your case study?

7) Interview 4 (with senior management): More motivational-based questions to understand how you think regarding investment trends.

8) Interview 5 (with senior management): As above. Tell me about your investment process? Tell me what events in your life led you to pursue L/S?

9) Interview 6 (with a recruiter): Motivational and behavioural based.
