Interview
Submitted my application through our schools online resume portal. Received an email to have a phone interview shortly there after, and eventually was pushed forward to the second round interview. Second round interview is held with both an MD who asks behavioral questions and a Manager who goes through a pretty simple case with you (which they often will give you ahead of time). Pretty easy if you have prepared at all for a case interview.
Interview Questions
**FOR THE BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEW:**

| Tell me a little bit about your background and walk me through your resume |

Why Consulting / Why Protiviti / Why your specific practice group interest |

Given the nature of the work you will be doing, what are your thoughts about travel, work-life balance, or long hours

**FOR THE CASE INTERVIEW**

| Tell me what you understand about the case I have given you? |

Walk me through the first steps you would take if you were working on this case, why |

What would you do if the client were to do [insert hypothetical business action here]

Interview
Scheduled phone screening after meeting recruiter at job fair. The first interview was about a week after the phone screening. Talked with a Senior Manager in the Risk & Compliance Practice. Conversational, had attended my college and was involved in the same business fraternity. Moved on to Super Day, which consisted of a series of group activities, a panel with Protiviti employees, a 1-on-1 interview with a Managing Director, a case study interview and a group presentation. Received offer a week after.
Interview Questions
The two aspects of the interview that was the most difficult were the case study and the group presentation, although neither was too difficult. The case study was sent to me the day before and focused on business performance improvements. The interview was mostly interviewee led, with a set of questions at the end of the case. MD was helpful and provided help when needed. The interview concluded with a short casual conversation. For the group presentation, the company brought in a few Senior Managers who looked at how we worked. We gave the presentation to a few Protiviti employees as well as the rest of the interviewees. High pressure because Senior Managers staring at you while you prepare the presentation.

I met Protiviti at our campus career fair, and at careers in accounting day, and then followed up with an application on their website and via our campus careers website. Through our campus careers website, I was offered an on (university) campus interview a few weeks later. The interview consisted of 30 minute behavioral and 30 minute case study interview to which I was sent a related diagram the night before. During the interview, I was given the case study by an employee that went into a full story about it. The case study was about fixing a company's business process, related to Process Control Optimization and their purchasing process and then walked through how I solved it. The behavioral interview was done by the Recruiting lead who was kind of condescending.
Interview Questions
What current financial compliance issues are you aware of that are in the news?

I answered Sarbanes Oxley Act but then he asked for more and I didn't know.

Describe a time in which you were faced with an unexpected obstacle?

Describe a time in which you dealt with a difficult team member and how you handled it

I applied through a campus recruiting site. After a few weeks I received notification that I would be interviewing. The first round consisted of an hour long interview with two different people from the firm. The first 30 minutes were behavioral questions and the last 30 minutes was an easy case about information that had been emailed the night before. The second round is an office visit where you interact with professionals from the firm and do a couple more behavioral portions.
Interview Questions
The case focused on process improvement for a commercial bank. Preliminary information about the bank's current loan underwriting process was sent the night before. During the interview, I was given the missing pieces and asked several follow up questions as well as how to improve the underwriting process.
Tell me about a time you have had to influence someone to change his or her mind. The interviewer wanted to test our ability to be persuasive

Interview
Met and handed in resume at career fair at a top undergrad university in Ohio. Got an on campus interview, which was coupled with a pre-night dinner with applicant pool of about 30 and probably 8 current employees with a range of positions (mostly recent hires). Interview the next day consisted of two back to back 30 minute interviews (one on one). The first interview was with a recent high and the second with a managing director. A vast majority of the questions were behavioral.

Got through on campus interview and went to the office in Cinci for a full day of interviews (8am - 2pm). One presentation/interview was in a group setting but the other 3 or 4 were all one on one. The night before the interview I was given a case study about a car rental business, and asked to analyze. The case was missing a lot of information. So assumptions were necessary to come up with potential solutions. I got half way through the case and was cut off because the interviewer thought I had done a great job, and continuing with the case was not necessary. We then just got to know each other, and he told me more about the firm. The other interviews were all behavioral and the firm was looking for 'fit'. Nothing really too challenging.

I found about a week later that I got the job offer, and had a week to respond.
Interview Questions
Tell me about a time when you were working in a group and encounter a problem, and what you did to overcome it.
Case problem involving a car rental company that had multiple locations. The case left out a bunch of necessary information to form an opinion/come up with a solutions. Assumptions were necessary. Basically they were just looking for you to realize that the information wasn't perfect, to come up with assumptions, be able to back up why you made those assumptions (make sure they are logical), and come up with one or multiple solutions (based on the assumptions).
