Interview
Reached out with a cold email and was put in touch with a 3rd year analyst. It seemed like a fit and was put in touch with another experienced analyst over the phone. Ultimately went in to speak with an MD. The process was extremely relaxed and only focused on my background, their background, and what the firm / I would be doing if I were to start there.
Interview Questions
The only questions received were regarding my background, what are the three main ways to value a company, what is your experience doing X. There was nothing regarding in-depth accounting principles or formulas, brain teasers, or anything that you wouldn't learn early on throughout your undergrad. They do small deals, but seem to have a strong network of contacts to facilitate LMM deal flow. Knowledge on the LMM would be beneficial, but any experience in M&A is useful to begin your career at a boutique like this.
