The first interview consisted of me having to introduce myself and later explaining the M&A process, explaining a recent M&A deal that I had heard of and producing a one pager company profile.
The second of the two interviews consisted of several technical questions surrounding valuation and also the differences between sell-side and buy-side banking. Technical questions had a strong focus on multiples, while the banking questions primarily referred to how an investment bank operates, how it generates revenue and the different meanings of buy- and sell-side deals for the bank.
