Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied online and through my school's career services. At first, I received an email that wanted to set up a phone call. I had a phone call with an analyst that was a little technical, but mostly fit based with a few brainteasers. I was then invited to a Super Day at the firm in Milwaukee with seven or eight other candidates. The night before the Super Day we had a dinner with some other associates and analysts. Then we started our day with a 30 minute math/analytical test. Then we had about six one-on-one interviews with current analysts, associates, and directors. The interviews were strongly fit, very few finance or accounting questions were asked. The biggest questions that are asked in every interview are "Why Baird?" , "Why Equity Research?", and "Why Milwaukee?". You should be prepared to answer these questions very well. Additionally, there seemed to be a dozen brain buster questions asked throughout the day. Also, be able to pitch multiple stocks and have them down as one interviewer will actually pull up that stocks information and check you on your facts. After the long interview sessions, there was a happy hour scheduled after it.
