Interview
1st round was a pre-recorded interview asking the standard behavioral/scenario questions.
2nd and final round (different from other years, because of COVID-19 I suppose) was a joint 45 min fit interview and a 45 min case interview. The fit covered why Samsung, why Seoul, and some targeted questions regarding the business area I was interested in. The case interview was focused on a new market entry issue that Samsung had seen in the past.
It was efficient and the people at Samsung were nice.
Interview Questions
An unexpected question was to tell them about a time I had failed and why it had failed.

Group Interview
Interview
Interviewed for the Samsung GSG team out of my MBA, interview had 3 parts, group case, individual case, and fit. Was led by two europeans on the GSG team but many other Korean team members sat in and listened (maybe asked 1-2 questions.) Individual case was similar to a McKinsey style interviewer led case.
Interview Questions
Interview was pretty straightforward. Group case there were four people in the room, each was assigned a role and then we had to choose between various options for the best strategy to revamp businesses in a challenging market. The fit interview was pretty standard, why samsung, talk about your resume, etc. Definitely be prepared for why do you want to live in Korea and what parts of the company would you want to work in after GSG. Individual case was similar to a Mckinsey format. Drew out a simple framework then got 5-6 exhibits to react to and interpret.

Interview
I applied online through an employee referral and they reached out to me. I had a nice chat with the recruiter and she called me in a final interview. Overall the process was very relaxed and easy.
Interview Questions
The questions I were asked were actually pretty easy. Most of them were behavioral and gauging my overall interest in the company. They gave me questions like "Why Samsung?" and "why do you want to be an summer product marketing intern in our department?" Then they asked me questions based on my prior internship experience and how I felt the skills I had developed were going to help contribute to their team today. Their last part of the interview was mainly going over my excel skills and whether or not I could create simple Excel functions like pivot tables and vlookups. Overall an easy and relaxed process.

Interview for Cheil Worldwide
The interviewer asked the following questions
1) why Advertising
2) what you like to do on your free time
3) what is your take on the following ad
4) what is your future plan
5) how do you cope with stress
Interview Questions
The most difficult question asked was about what my take on a piece of Advertising was.
The advertising consisted of a red toothpaste that had a label on it. The advertising was on the side of a bus and looked to be a failure of an advertising because it hadn't really captured the attention of those passing by it. I thought that the picutre could use more of a spark and that the advertising had to spark between all the advertising around it. So I tried to make sense of the situation, place and the people around it.

Background Check
Interview
Was referred by an employee. Later contacted by HR for two rounds of interviews. First one is regular behavioral phone interview while second was with HR recruiter.
Interview Questions
There were mostly behavioral and fit questions, asking about prior experiences in corporate finance, general background, situational cases to assess team-based and client-based interaction skills and working under pressure. Basic technical questions for accounting. More harder questions were some product analysis questions. Was also given some hypothetical situations and asked how I would proceed to deal with these. Overall just be confident and prepare your story and sell your story well and you won't be stumped.

IQ / Intelligence Test
Interview
Samsung came down to our campus for their hiring process for both job and internship. The first round was the IQ round which lasted for 20-30 mins. After the first round around 30% of the candidates were eliminated. The next round was coding round where we had 3 questions to be done their platform in the C language. People who were able to solve 2-3 questions were called for the group discussion after which the interns were selected.
Interview Questions
The most difficult or unexpected question was the group discussion round where we had to speak about Samsung vs Apple.
It was a difficult question given that we were not given any time to prepare for the round and no prior information on the type of questions to be asked by them on the given topic.
We were very tensed about the answered since we had no clue. But we given 10 mins to jot down our thoughts and understand the question well. Structure our answers and come up with the best possible scenario. We were 10 people sitting there and it was a competetive environment. We were very aggressive in our approach to make our voices heard.
