SIMM Students in Money Management
Overall Ranking (88%)
The Overall Ranking is a score from 1 star (very bad) to 5 stars (excellent) generated based on the Company Reviews of current and former employees at this company, taking everything into account.
The number you see in the middle of the donut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.
The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few reviews). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Students in Money Management (SIMM) entrusts students at St. Bonaventure University to manage two real investment portfolios, the Long Fund and the Energy Hedge Fund. Students determine and implement asset allocation, analyze Market Sectors, and coordinate Administrative logistics.
The Long Fund, with $215,000 Assets under Management (AUM) is under Passive Management. The objective is to generate positive return in rising markets through investments in Equity Securities, Exchange-Traded Funds, and Fixed Income Securities. The Risk Management team determines the level of risk acceptable and implements hedging strategies accordingly.
The Energy Hedge Fund, with $270,000 AUM is under Active Management. The objective is to generate positive returns through investments within the Energy Sector. The team is regularly engaged in trading Equity Securities and Commodity Futures Contracts while effectively controlling for falling markets through use of Derivatives.
In addition, SIMM is in the developing stages of a third portfolio, MicroFinance. A portion of the realized gains generated within the Long Fund and the Energy Hedge Fund will be channeled to the MicroFinance Portfolio. The objective is to provide affordable loans for small businesses that would otherwise lack access to traditional banking. The team will provide consulting on business strategies and maintain active oversight on loan status.
As a result, SIMM members develop an impeccable amount of knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.
