Overall Ranking (NA)

The Overall Ranking is a score from 1 star (very bad) to 5 stars (excellent) generated based on the Company Reviews of current and former employees at this company, taking everything into account.

The number you see in the middle of the donut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few reviews). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

The Overall Ranking is generated based on the Company Reviews.

Company Details

SMB Capital is a proprietary trading desk located in the financial capital of the world, New York City, recognized for our training program. We use the principles of elite performance to grow new and developing traders. SMB Traders are committed to getting better everyday and not just as traders. Our work is to provide the new and developing traders their best chance to become an elite trader.

SMB was founded by two well-educated (Wharton, UConn Law School), experienced, and active traders. Today SMB has three partners: Mike Bellafiore, author of One Good Trade: Inside the Highly Competitive World of Proprietary Trading (Wiley); Steve Spencer, whose teaching is broadcasted three times a week on StockTwits TV; and Gilbert Mendez, recently named Top Three Trader Under 30. SMB's Partners have collectively traded for 30 plus years. During these years we have learned and internalized different trading styles but continually search for the next trading edge.

You may have seen our training program shot for the television documentary, Wall Street Warriors. SMB partners have written numerous articles for SFO Magazine, been quoted in various leading financial sites and blogs, and cited in numerous trading books. SMB regularly appears on CNBC.
