Interview
I had a employee referral so they sent me a start up deck and ask me to make investment memo. Memo started on Friday and ended at 8am on Monday. From there I waited a week to see if I would move onto the final round. Final round was a presentation about your investment memo. Mine was with two alumni so low technical questions more conceptual of why I selected invest or not invest recommendation
Interview Questions
They will ask about past transaction. "What recent investments have we done in Africa?" (Network to get a better understanding of this, huge with their firm)
They also want to validate that you know what they do and why. They are impact focused so make sure you understand that there are more layers then just the return. "Would you invest in a profitable company that could potentially cause a great deal of impact in the future but has no impact now?"
Questions that I didn't expect:
"At what percent would you discount for impact if at all?"
"Why does impact investing matter?"
