Phone Interview
Interview
Had 3 phone interviews with different VP / principal level people. Asked basic fit questions, deal experience, interest in the company, and what portfolio companies I found interesting. Seemed that the two offices were not very coordinated in recruiting.
Interview Questions
Talk through one of our portfolio companies, why you think its interesting (looking for thesis / risks, a rough market sizing, why you think its interesting, and some discussion of competitive positioning) - i think its good to have 1-2 different companies for these questions so you aren't saying the same thing each time
Talking through deal experience - be specific on what the company was, thesis / risks and what you found interesting, what your role was in the deal, how you built the model, what the key sensitivities were

Interview
Began with an overview of the firm, and asked me to go over my resume and tell my "story." Asked why I was interested in switching from banking to investing, and why growth equity specifically. Spoke with 1 VP, which went well, and was then directed to interview with a second VP. Seemed that east and west coast groups are pretty separate. The people I interviewed with seemed very nice and personable.
Interview Questions
There were no difficult or unexpected questions. Large focus of the interview was on an "area of interest" that you have. Would advise research an area in depth. I was able to speak in depth about a sub sector for 3-5 minutes, so didn't get pressed too much on it.
