Interview Details

What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I found out about the opportunity via an online job board. I filled out an application via the online application and heard back via email to set up a phone interview. Make sure to communicate well during this important call.
What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?
Mostly fit based with random excel questions to ensure you knew about specific functions within excel. Pretty standard interview with average questions on why you want to work at the firm and the city. The interview was not very in depth in terms of getting to know the candidates personality and the story behind why they really wanted to be at the company. The interview was on the phone and offered a poor discussion to show your skills and personality and very little relevant questions were asked for technical knowledge.
How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?
I went over my background and the various reasons about why I’d be a good fit and my desire to live in that particular city. As in most cases, it’s difficult to communicate yourself to others in a true way of only a phone screening is being conducted and the interviewer states they have hundreds of other candidates to rush through. The HR person seemed to lack in effort as to finding out why candidates wanted to choose this company opposed to many other options they have in the region. The interview felt as if the interviewer went through the motions.

Overall Ranking

Overall Ranking is a score from 1 star (very bad) to 5 stars (excellent) generated based on the Company Reviews of current and former employees at this company, taking everything into account.

The number you see in the middle of the donut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few reviews). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.
