Phone interview and a Super Day in NY. Met with around 10 different employees, only one was technical. Then took a writing test.
Interview Questions
Questions mostly about background and resume but a few specific to Private Equity industry. Know top players, relevant metrics, and what a good prospective PE buyout investment would look like. Also be able to describe the j-curve, secondaries, co-investments, and all the different types of PE investment. Finally, for the writing portion you had to look at various PE fund performances and describe their success and most important drivers. Be able to write quickly and analytically for each fund as they are looking at how you can write professionally.
