Investment Banking Summer Analyst

The first round interview was in the on-campus recruitment center. I was interviewed by an IB associate who was worked within their FIG group. The interview was early in the morning and I believe I was his first interview of the day and he didn't seem too happy to be interviewing in the moment. He asked me about myself and gave me around 2 minutes to talk about my background and interests and then rudely cut me off and said that's enough. He then went into the technicals and asked the basic accounting questions as well as basic valuation questions. He noticed that I understood the big picture but I didn't get into the details, so he went onto more tough and anecdotal questions which was were I began to slip. He then went on to tell me that if I ever wanted to work in IB I needed to master these kind of situational valuation questions, and I agreed.
