Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Resume and cover letter drop through campus career services platform. There was an on-campus interview with two employees (ranging from analysts to managers), with an info session the day before. You'll hear back within a week if you made it to the super day at their office in Arlington/DC, which occurs over two days. The first day is an excel test (basic portfolio management theory and presentation) and a dinner with members of the firm. The second day is a casual lunch with two analysts followed by 6 back to back 30min interviews with the likes of the CIOs, CHRO, directors, managers, etc. Mainly fit, though everyone will test your knowledge on markets, the macroeconomy, portfolio theory, an econ/finance project you've worked on. You should hear back within 1-2 weeks; if you have any impending offers or anything of that sort, they're more than willing to work with you to accelerate getting back to you.

The entire process was really great - I really enjoyed meeting with everyone at the firm and it was not a high-pressure experience at all. The work-life balance is pretty great - you're definitely not going to be hitting anything like 60+ and the office is just over the river across from Georgetown. The firm is currently around 100 members (as of Oct 2017) though I'm not sure if that number includes/excludes IT, marketing, etc. They've been growing pretty fast and plan on continuing to do so. They're hiring roughly 4-6 analysts a year for the 3yr program, primarily from UVA, GT, GW, ND, UNC, WF (that list might be missing a few; you can verify on LinkedIn). If you're interested in asset management but not sure what exact asset field you'd want to commit to, Strategic is a great place to consider, as you would gain exposure to Equities, FI, HF, PE, VC, etc.
