Please describe the interview / hiring process.
An alumni contacted our school in regards to internship opportunities at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Interested students applied through the school career center in January 2014. The selected students were contacted at end of March for an opportunity to interview on site at the New York headquarter in April. The interview was one super day from 12 PM to 5 PM and candidates interviewed with 6 managers, including HR, in different divisions of the bank. Each interview was 30 minutes and the interviews included technical and behavorial questions. Most of the interviewers asked the candidates to talk about their resumes, leadership experiences, etc. and some technical questions about how to analyze companies. After the super day, I was contacted the next day with an offer. The hired students had to get a background check and take a drug test. The procedure was very straight forward and the difficulty of the interviews was average.
