Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Had an initial phone screening and then went to Boca for a superday. Generally, the superday was pretty easy. I had one on one interviews with 6 people in the firm and received mostly deal and fit questions. I did receive some common technical questions as well, including a paper LBO. I also heard the next round would have been a case study.
Interview Questions
Calculate the returns for this Paper LBO scenario. Given financials, purchase multiples, leverage, etc.

Had to calculate the FCF, sources and uses, MOIC, and IRR.
How would you value a company that has negative EBITDA due to the business cycle and it being a very cyclical industry?

Would need to normalize the EBITDA and take into account the business cycle into the valuation.

Interview
Process was very slow and managed through someone who appeared to be an admin. Went through 3 phone interviews with people at the firm of different levels and took nearly 2-3 weeks between each round. Overall process seemed very unorganized with little communication. Each call was very similar -- walk through resume and deal experience, go over a few tech questions included LBO driver and quick LBO math, and why Sun and why Boca. Everyone I spoke too seemed very nice and had solid experience.
Interview Questions
If you buy a $30M company for 5x and EBITDA stays constant at exit, what multiple do we need to exit at to make a 20% IRR
