General Interview Information
Interview Details
The on-campus interview consists of two parts: the interview in the morning/afternoon and a mixer in the evening. Both are important to being extended an offer. The interview is done with one to two people that are Vice Presidents or higher. The mixer later in the evening will give all the candidates a chance to make one last impression in a more social setting (open bar, food, etc.).
The super day interview is about a week or so later. This is a two-day interview. On the first day, there are presentations about the bank, where the bank is going, and why you should pick the bank if you are selected. Then there is a mixer with mostly VPs and up from different groups in the bank. This gives you a chance to make an impression on the ones ultimately making decisions. Afterwards, there is a dinner and outing for all the candidates and current analysts. The second day consists of 7 back to back 30-minute interviews. Interviewers range from 1st year Associates to MDs, and each interviewer has specific kinds of questions to ask. After the interviews, lunch is provided before everyone is dismissed. You are called within the next week if you are extended an offer. If you are not extended an offer, an email will be sent to you a couple weeks after the super day.
My advice to anyone looking at STRH is definitely take the networking opportunities seriously. One of the biggest things that was stressed during super days was being a likable person. The more people that like you, the higher your chances of an offer. Also, the night before your interviews, relax. Don't stay up late cramming on information. Lastly, always be you. The interviews want to get an idea of who you are.
