Company Details
Founded in 1997, T-Venture is the VC arm of Deutsche Telekom, investing in young companies that demonstrate economic and technological synergies with the Deutsche Telekom business units as well as above-average growth potential. The firm intensively accompanies companies and acts as their long-term partner. The objective of the co-operation is a valorisation of the company followed by a successful sale of the shareholding after five to seven years.
Since its inception, T-Venture has invested in more than 190 companies. Over 70% of the 100+ active portfolio companies have a commercial engagement with Deutsche Telekom. Investment activities focus on Europe, the United States and Israel.
The firm invests from the (preferred) seed stage to mezzanine stages— 250k - 40 million Euros. It has two evergreen funds: Products & Services Fund, and Processes & Infrastructure Fund. Its current investment focus includes three main segments: Fixed and mobile network technology; Digital services; IT & Intelligent Networks.
T-Venture's membership of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) and the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK) guarantees highest standards. Top executive involvement in the T-Venture Supervisory Board and Investment Committees ensures strong alignment with Deutsche Telekom.
T-Venture has an exit-oriented venture capital investment strategy.
Notable investments include: BelAir Networks (wireless networking equipment; acquired by Ericsson), CipherCloud (cloud information protection solutions), Danger (software platform and hardware behind T-Mobile’s Sidekick phone; acquired by Microsoft), Intelligent Apps (mytaxi app), Iversity (European MOOCs platform) and ZenMate (internet encryption service).
