This was a pretty standard interview. I met the recruiter at a college fair and was offered an interview on the spot. They had a special interview list for outstanding candidates on the day and I asked to be put on it. A phone interview followed (mostly eligibility) then an in person interview.
Interview Questions
1. What was the most interesting thing you have ever done at work? 2. Name a time you have had to do something that you knew wasn’t right for a superior. 3. How do we know you won’t leave us after 6months. (This seemed like an issue for the company as they said their candidates are often poached. 4. Where do you see your career with the firm going? 5. Are you willing to work from further away locations, this involves moving to a location 60 miles away. (This was not disclosed before the interview but they expect you to go to the store you are needed at)

I got the initial interview by attending the career fair at my college campus. After talking to the recruiter she set up for an interview a couple weeks later. Had a 30min interview with a Director/VP level individual at the firm, was told I would hear back two weeks later. Two weeks later, I was offered the position. All questions were behavior based. The interview was a conversation for the most part, and the interview was very easy to connect with.
Interview Questions
Tell me about something that is going on in the retail industry currently? Ex. show-rooming

I spoke about show-rooming and how the trend could hurt sales. Also spoke about future trends in the industry.
Tell me about a time you were faced with a difficult situation as a leader?

Basic behavioral.
Why Target?

Young culture, fast-paced work environment, ability to support a product/retail group that you are passionate about, other basic answers.
I do not think you will get anything more difficult than basic behavior questions and industry trends. If you can make the interview a conversation, the time will fly by since it is only a 30 min interview for the internship.

Interview
Submitted my resume/cover letter on our career website. Then was notified to set up an on campus interview. Before the interview you had to take an online assessment that took an hour or two to complete. Nothing too hard. The night before the on campus interview date there was a reception to meet the interviewers and the recruiter. It was pretty informal, everyone just gathered around and asked questions. The interview was all behavioral questions. About 4 'tell me about a time when' questions and that was all.
Interview Questions
It got hard to keep coming up with scenarios because I wanted each scenario to be unique and show a different side of me.

Tell me about a time when you failed.

I spoke about a time when my student organization and I were in charge of putting on a large campus wide and community wide philanthropy that I was in charge of. The failure occurred when I overlooked the specific involvement of the police force in terms of handling security and road blocks. I talked about how the issue was resolved.
Walk me through your resume and highlight significant aspects.
