What did the interview consist of?
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I submitted my resume to a contact who worked within the firm as an MD; they forwarded my resume to the associate hiring for the position and recommended me. This recommendation got me the interview. I was contacted a week later via email by the associate who was responsible for interviewing for the position. He set up a date for a telephone interview which would be several days later. The interview was relatively short, approximately half an hour. It consisted of the associate asking around 10 behavioural questions and providing an overview of the responsibilities the position entailed. The entire process only required one interview due to the strength of my recommendation. The culture at TD seems very easy going, and everyone I have encountered so far has been very friendly. Based on the words of the associate, it seems interns are treated very fairly and given opportunities to grow. I would advise other interview candidates to be very personable as TD's culture seems to be that way.
