Received a call from HR to do the phone screen and review my background/qualifications.

Day later received a call from HR that they liked my responses on the phone and wanted to continue with an in person interview.

Two weeks later drove to The Hartford and had three meetings, 30 minutes each. One was with a director, one in person with a business consultant and one phone interview with another consultant. All the questions were behavioral, (tell me a time when...).

Received a call a week later that they liked me and wanted me back for an excel skills test. Invited back two weeks later. I spoke with the director again and another business consultant.

Made it to the final round, which was another 3 weeks after the excel skills test. It was down to one other candidate and myself. Met with the VP, AVP and Director again. More behavioral questions, lots of repeat. At this point the process was seeming like a broken record.

Received a call two weeks later, told I was not being offered the job and that my personality was a little too serious, so they went ahead and offered it to an internal candidate.
