I emailed and called the company off a list asking for a Spring Investment Banking Internship, MD emailed me they were hiring "market intelligence interns", I call him again and got the offer after that.
Interview Questions
All you need to have is a story for doing investment banking. The interview was almost 7 months ago but the only question I remember getting asked was where my home town was my initial story. I was asked 0 technical questions, no brain teasers, no curve balls and there was no stress test. The interview lasted 30 minutes over the phone call I initiated. I followed up a few days later and told the MD I accepted the internship offer. It was "paid" i.e. a 10% commission of the fee if a deal I worked on closed and I didn't negotiate that.
