Interview Questions & Answers - The JM Smucker Company Examples

Intern, financial analyst Interview - Corporate Finance

Anonymous employee in Orrville
Interviewed: February 2013
Outcome
Accepted Offer
Interview Source
College / University / On Campus Recruiting
Length of Process
Less than 1 month
Application
1 on 1 Interview
Drug Test
Background Check
Interview
I spoke with an on-campus recruiter after my senior investment class, and my professor gave me a good recommendation, so I did not need to fill out an application of any sort. I was called on the phone about five days ahead of time and told that I would have three separate interviews in succession. Afterwards, I would be administered a drug screening (piss test only). Additionally, I believe they performed a background check prior to any hiring decision. The first and third interviews were very conversational just asking about my school background and classes. The second interview was a bit more traditional with questions about my future and what not. The interview was at the corporate headquarters which is a beautiful building in the middle of Orrville.
Interview Questions
Where do you see yourself in ten years? I was just taken off-guard by the question because I didn't want to come off as condescending and say that I would want to be a high-level manager. I just sort of made something up to answer it saying that I would like to be working for the company in some random position.
So I see you know (insert name here) that already works here, if I asked him or her for his or her opinion of you, what do you think they would say? I didn't know how to answer exactly because I had not seen the guy mentioned for roughly ten years, so I just kind of joked that he would think I was a lot older.
