Interview
Interviewed for position in London (Analyst). Phone call with HR set up by a recruiter. Questions around fit and CV.
Interview Questions
Nothing unexpected. I had a call with HR (based in NY) which was set up by a recruiter. I talked through my CV and any relevant deals I had covered (no technicals). HR then walked through the role and the team set up as well as expected salary and notice period. I asked some general questions on the role. HR also asked some general situational questions (What would you do if x etc.). I also had to come up with examples on certain situations such as "Can you remember a time you had to think outside the box".

Interview
First round interview was pretty intensive and included technical questions. This was followed by a modelling test which was very basic and only took roughly 60 minutes to complete at home.
Interview Questions
Tell me why you're interested in Industrials (this was for a role that was going to be focused on also real estate sub sectors). Tell me the IRR based on some simple numbers given including leverage (so work out IRR of a project in your head). Otherwise there is a strong focus on cultural fit as with all relatively small private equity shops. Be more relaxed and you will get through it a lot easier as they just want someone that they are going to spend 16 hours a day sat in the office with. Be normal.
