Please describe the interview / hiring process.
My old employer got me in touch with a friend who has connections in banking. He referred me to the MD who got me into the recruiting process. They got me in before they actually started recruiting because I go to school out of state (this was during winter break). When I got there it was very casual, and not stressful. I interviewed with 4 analysts and most of the questions were the basic tell me about yourself, walk me through your resume ect., probably because I am only a sophomore and didn't expect me to know the technicals. Most of the analyst and I ended up just having a casual conversation, good guys. One asked me what happens to each financial statement when depreciation goes up. He said he didn't expect me to get it but I did. That's accounting 101 bra. He was the one to sort of probe me in my understanding of the economy and finance. He wanted to know where I thought the economy was going, wanted to know about a project I worked on and asked why I like financial stocks. Which lead into the effects of QE.
