We were founded in 1986 by two entrepreneurs who saw the opportunity for a different approach to venture capital — an approach long on collaboration, short on hierarchy, and with none of the “our way or the highway” mentality.

Our focus is on seed and early stage companies in targeted technology categories. We’ve intentionally stayed at a fund size that enables us to maintain close ties between our team and those of our portfolio companies. What this means is that, of necessity, we must limit the number of investments we make. To a person, Trinity Ventures is financially, intellectually and emotionally committed to the success of our portfolio companies. We want to have the bandwidth to deliver this commitment on every entrepreneur we fund.
